Sustainability at University of Technology Sarawak
Green Building Design University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) is the very first university in Malaysia to achieve a GBI “Platinum Index” rating. This incorporates planning, design and green architecture simultaneously and effectively to create a fully integrated, comfortable, user-friendly environment which is conducive for research, teaching and learning environment. Elements that incorporate the Green Design is shown in Figure 1. Figure 2 shows the “Platinum Index” rating certificate.
UTS currently have six schools namely: School of Engineering and Technology , School of Business and Management , School of Built Environment , School of Computing and Creative Media and School of Postgraduate Studies. All courses are fully accreditated by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and Professional bodies.

Lab Accreditation (No: SAMM 896 , MS ISO/IEC 17025 ) UTS through School of Engineering and Technology has been granted accreditation by ‘Skim Akreditasi Makmal Malaysia (SAMM)’,and meet all the requirements for MS ISO/IEC17025.
