Full Accreditation of Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons)
Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hons) programme in UTS meets the requirements of Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) through its Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC).
This is a formal recognition that the programme has attained the qualities and standards set by EAC which is also comparable to the global standards. Our graduates are eligible to register as graduate engineers with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), and as graduate members of the Institution of Engineers Malaysia (IEM). Under the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 (Revised 2002), graduates registered with BEM are able to provide professional engineering services.
In addition, graduate engineers recognized by BEM will be recognized by all the other signatory countries of the Washington Accord as having met the academic requirements for Entry-To-Practice engineering. The signatories as of 2014 are Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States.
